About Robert Reeve

My love of birds and nature has influenced where I live and most everything in my life. I grew up on Long Island, New York, where both my parents were watercolorists. I began drawing under the guidance of my parent’s mentor, Harold Stevenson.

I lived in New Hampshire for 30 years, as a woodworker, raising a family, running a fruit farm, and working as a mental health counselor at Southern New Hampshire University. Through my late wife's family I came to Nantucket Island most summers for 20 years as the farm schedule allowed.

Since 2003 I have come to Nantucket every summer and, for a time, ran a charter boat for birding and fishing from Madaket. I continue to tie flies for the Bill Fisher Tackle Shop. I carve birds and do wood work on Nantucket during the summer months and for the rest of the year work from my shop in Natick, Massachusetts. I am a member of the Artist Association of Nantucket in drawing and sculpture.

Much of my inspiration is from my longtime friend, renowned wood sculptor, Jon Brooks of New Boston, NH. My work is in numerous private collections.
